There are 13 research laboratories operating within the Divisions of Phytopathology and Entomology, specializing in Acarology, Bacteriology, Biological Control, Ecology, Physiology, Herbology, Mycology, Nematology, Pesticide Toxicology, Taxonomy, Agricultural Zoology, and Virology.

These laboratories conduct research on plant protection agents and pests, including:

• Macroscopic and microscopic identification, isolation, and diagnosis using conventional and molecular methods;

• Determination of their distribution and assessment of the extent of damage they cause to plants;

• Investigation of their biology under both laboratory and natural conditions;

• Studies on their ecology, epidemiology, and etiology;

• Development of sustainable management strategies, taking into account environmental and human health as well as food safety.
