EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES AND KEY LEARNING OF THIS PROGRAM

The aim of this training program is to use up-to-date knowledge and experience in basic science, engineering and agriculture to recognize the problems in the field of plant protection, analyze and interpret data, and have the ability to solve evidence-based diseases, pests, weeds and beneficial organisms in general. Capable of recognizing with microscopic and macroscopic methods, determining prevalence and harm / benefit levels, having the competence to carry out the current technically defined proposals for the solution of plant protection problems by considering sustainable agriculture, environment and human health and food safety, and with the scientific approach to the foreground. To train agricultural engineers who can reflect on theoretical and / or designs to applications individually and / or as team members.

To be able to connect basic science, informatics, mathematics and engineering sciences with agricultural engineering applications using up-to-date knowledge and experience

Ability to recognize the problems in agriculture, especially those in the area of plant protection, using contemporary techniques, to analyze and interpret data, and to choose and apply evidence-based solution methods

To be able to recognize the disease factors, pests, weeds and beneficial organisms, which are frequently seen in agricultural areas, by microscopic and macroscopic methods in general, to determine their prevalence and harm / benefit levels, to solve the problem of plant protection, the current technical recommendations for sustainable agriculture, environment and human health and food safety mindfulness

To be able to follow national and international current problems in the field, to adopt the importance of lifelong learning, to improve oneself by following science and technology, to be aware of research techniques, professional ethics, social, environmental and economic impacts

To be able to carry out theoretical and / or designs as a team member in a way that emphasizes the scientific approach in the field, to act independently when necessary, to have the ability to use initiative and creativity, to communicate by expressing their ideas in a clear and concise manner, verbally and in writing

The ability to understand the current reports and data in the field, to prepare effective reports with the ability to communicate effectively in Turkish written and verbally, to make effective presentations, to receive and give clear and understandable instructions
